I am fast becoming a fan of photographing babies at 12 weeks old. The idea started when my second baby was born. We had a newborn shoot which was wonderful, but were fortunate enough to have a second photography session when he was around 12 weeks old. By then he was smiling and responding in a way which newborn babies haven’t learnt to do yet.

I’ve since photographed a few babies at this age, and love the variety of images that I’m able to capture. We can still take sleepy and cuddly photographs, but we can also capture smiles and laughs! The other advantage of a photoshoot when your baby is 12 weeks old is that mum has had more of a chance to recover from giving birth, and other siblings have had a chance to adjust to the new arrival.

I recently met Freddie at just around this age, and our 12 week photography session was great fun. Having previously photographed his big sister as a newborn, it was good to try something a little different with the latest addition to the family.

If you’re interested in an at-home photography session for you and your family, please get in touch and say hello!
