Today I am excited to announce that I've been accepted as a qualified member of the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers (SWPP). A portfolio of 20 of my photographs has been judged worthy of the 'Licentiate' qualification by a panel of five experts, across the areas of impact, creativity, composition, lighting and photographic technique.
I decided to apply for the SWPP Licentiate qualification because it's really important to me that my photographs are not just emotive and meaningful, but also technically excellent. I get regular validation from the families that I meet that they love my photographs, but having your technique and vision deemed of a professional standard by a panel of experts is also very rewarding.
The judges concluded that my submission is, "a wonderful set of images capturing childhood at its very best".
The SWPP is one of the world's largest organisations for professional photographers, providing training, business support and networking opportunities to wedding and portrait photographers.
Thank you to all of the families who chose me as their photographer and helped me compose this portfolio of images. I'm excited to share them with you below - can you spot your photograph?
