Last weekend was grey and overcast, so we decided to head to Brooklands Museum in Weybridge with our three year old daughter and ten-month old boy. I can't believe we hadn't been there before - it was a fantastic day out and I don't think we even scratched the surface.
The museum is vast and filled with planes, cars and buses to explore - a child's delight! My daughter loved climbing up the stairs to each of the airplanes and walking through cabin, viewing the cockpit, then running on to find the next plane.
I'm no transport-nut, but I found it fascinating to see Concorde in real life, and would love to return child-free to take the tour one day. This is a bookable extra but no doubt worth the effort.
Also on-site at Brooklands is the London Bus Museum. This comprises a warehouse of historical buses, many of which you can climb aboard. On the day of our visit some of the buses were just returning form a film set, which sounded quite exciting!
The undoubted highlight for my daughter was a ride on the top deck of a Routemaster bus, which went all the way to Weybridge high street and back.
Next time you're looking for something to do in the Weybridge area, definitly consider Brooklands Museum.
I am running a morning of headshot photography sessions on Saturday April 22nd, for individuals who would like a professional headshot for business or personal use. Click here to find out more.
