The Christmas spirit is in full flow, and local children from Monkey Music have been sharing their festivities with the elderly residents of Whiteley House, the care home in Whiteley Village, Walton on Thames.

Alex Schirn, who runs the Monkey Music franchise across Weybridge, Cobham, Walton and Molesey organised a free class at the care home to bring the joy of Christmas to the residents. I was really excited to not only photograph this special occassion, but also to take my son Joey along to join in.

All of the children loved performing their favourite Monkey Music songs and a few Christmas tunes for the residents. Everyone was welcome to join in with the singing, the musical instruments and the clapping.

Afterwards there was juice and biscuits, and a chance for the two year olds to chat with the residents. Joey and I spoke to a lady of 106 who said she was delighted to listen to the children, and loved shaking a tamborine herself!

The event was enjoyed by young and old alike, and certainly left me buzzing for the rest of the day! Thanks Alex for a superb gift to our local community this Christmas.
